CHALLENGE
Visit a local museum and select an art exhibit that could benefit from a more cohesive design system which would be applied to its narrative, digital, and environmental design elements.
APPROACH
There is Magic Here was a National Juried Group Exhibition at the MarinMOCA located in Novato California, judged by Svea Lin Soll, a gallerist and independent curator. This exhibition was curated through the lens of rediscovering joy in the aftermath of a recently very transformative period in our collective human history. I used this theme as the cornerstone of the design, creating visuals that evoked transformation and the evolving human experience. The new identity system was applied to environmental pieces within the gallery, a full exhibition guide, street posters, and a website. By translating the curator’s lens into a physical and digital experience, the design serves as a bridge between the artwork and the audience.
